WELCOME TO
AZERAI LA RESIDENCE, HUE
Set on a two and a half-hectare site along the legendary Perfume River, Azerai La Residence, Hue has 122 rooms & suites. The colonial mansion at the heart of the resort was built in 1930s as part of the residence of the French Resident Superieure. The mansion’s distinctive façade, its long horizonal lines and nautical flourishes are hallmark of the streamline moderne school of art deco architecture. Its two complementary wings, built in 2005, are contemporary in design yet echo elements of art deco aesthetics and embrace an expansive tropical garden and salt-water swimming pool.

Loved our stay at the Azerai
We stayed at the Azerai for our honeymoon and had a great visit. The town is adorable and so much fun to sit on the sidewalks and have some food and beer. Tri made us feel right at home at the hotel and treated us like royalty!
The spa was amazing, don’t miss it!
Show MoreA Beautiful Hotel with a Beautiful Staff!!!
A beautiful hotel with a beautiful staff. Every touch point was fantastic. Arrived early and had a delicious lunch in the dining room. The room was spacious and gorgeous. A true 5 star. The artwork and bar, pool and spa are beautifully appointed. I had the absolute best massage with a fantastic woman who went above and beyond. I had many massages while in Vietnam as we worked our way from North to South. This was by far the best! This hotel was lovely and the nicest one we stayed at. They arranged a private tour for us as we had 1 day in Hue. The guide was fantastic and the hotel provided their car to drive us with the guide. Again, their driver was so accommodating and professional and warm. We wanted to have a drink at a rooftop bar and he graciously dropped us there at the end of our tour. A wonderful experience which is why I took the time to write the review!! A bonus is this hotel is a close distance from the train station as we took the scenic train from Danang that goes along the coast. In addition not far from Hue airport which is new and not crazy crowded like the other airports in Vietnam. Our time in Hue was fantastic thanks to La Residence, Hue! Thank you.
Show MoreBeautiful hotel set in an old French colonial mansion.
Beautiful hotel set by the river in an old historic French colonial building. Very carefully maintained and spotlessly clean in every detail. Rooms are just as beautiful as the communal areas with semi open bathroom and enclosed shower. Bed was bit hard for my taste but still comfortable with nice lined and super sized.
Spa was great and reasonably priced for the facilities and quality of service.
Breakfast was very good and I also enjoyed the food served at the bar.
Staff are all very friendly and so helpful.
The hotel is close to the old historic part of the city so easy for tourists. The main part of the city is a 20 min walk along the river side so perhaps bear that in mind if you want to be in the city with more choice of restaurants, etc.
The only downside to my stay was the construction at the edge of the hotel. Noisy from 7am – 6pm and it is directly adjacent to the very nice pool. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 stars. If you will be out all day then you will not notice this as it is very peaceful in the evening.
Excellence
There is no better place to stay in Hue. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful and across the bridge from the Imperial City. We stayed 2 nights and had plenty of time to walk around and see the main attractions. The pool is amazing, service is 5 star and the staff is really attentive and caring. We loved our stay!
Show MoreGreat spa and massage
One of the best massages I have ever had! Kim Anh found every knot and really worked thru it. I felt so good after my massage. Spa is very serene and nice as well. Would highly recommend. My friends also did massages and facials and had a wonderful experience as well!
Show MoreRelaxing and Therapeutic Massage
I have had many massages in the States. This was my first in Vietnam. Anh’s touch was remarkable. Firm pressure relieved the pain which had been getting worse as I toured this friendly, energetic country. The Azerai’s spa is a quiet, meditative setting, with lotus tea upon arrival and freshly squeezed orange juice at the end of the visit. Overall a classy and professional experience.

Fantastic spa treatment with Trang. It was very relaxing with a perfect level of pressure. I would highly recommend and it is consistent with the very good level of service in this hotel. Hope to be back again soon.

Show MoreBeautiful Hotel in perfect location!
Hue was our second stop on our trip to Vietnam. We researched the hotels in the city and La Residence was the one that we chose. The hotel looked lovely in an art deco style and was beside the river. One of the main attractions was the array of experiences which were shown on the website. I have never seen a more appealing set of day/half day tours. It was a hard choice to make as they all made a strong case.
Unfortunately our stay coincided with a sharp downturn in the weather and that was a bit disappointing but outside anyone’s control. We were aware that the weather could be poor but the forecast for our trip was reasonably warm and bright, sadly it was overcast and wet so anyone travelling to Hue in January should bear that in in mind.
The hotel was very tastefully designed and as fans of art deco we loved it. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. One thing to know is that there were no usb wall sockets. We didn’t have a charger, only leads, but we were able to borrow a charger from reception. There is a very nice shop /boutique at the hotel and an art gallery which we enjoyed visiting. The spa was stunning and the treatments we had were super, thanks very much to Tan and Vi, we wished we had availed of it more. The gardens and pool area looked lovely but the weather meant we couldn’t really appreciate them.
The hotel has one restaurant, Le Parfum, which is large, meaning that the tables were well spaced,a fact that we really liked. We had arrived at the hotel after a very frustrating trip from Hanoi and decided to have lunch. The restaurant was empty apart from ourselves as I assume most guests were out on trip/tours.
Le Parfum is an all day restaurant with a very extensive menu which remained the same throughout our visit. Sadly we got off to a bad start as neither of us were impressed with our lunch to say the least and we were disappointed. We decided to try and eat out for dinner but got mixed up in our directions and walked away from the central area of the city where most restaurants are situated. So we arrived back at Le Parfum, hungry and wet. Our dinner was a marginal improvement on lunch and the wine list although not extensive was well chosen and priced. The next morning we had booked an all day city tour and went to Le Parfum for breakfast.
Here we were happy to find that the previous day must have been ‘One of those days’ for us as the breakfast buffet was very nice with a variety of dishes including a lot of local options. On our return from our tour we went for dinner at Le Parfum and met the lovely Hieu who really helped us so much. My wife is a vegetarian , and the menu did not cater as much for vegetarians as we had hoped , but the chef offered to get her dishes from now on to be ‘off menu’ or adapted to suit her tastes. Hieu briefed the rest of the staff and they all knew to do the same for the duration of our stay. Coupled with her sense of humour and observation, Hieu was outstanding and really was a star.
All staff at the hotel were very friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel was more laid back than the other hotels we stayed at in Hanoi and Saigon and that also was reflected in the city which of course is much smaller than the others.
Hue may be smaller but it is a cultural paradise. The tours we had reflected both modern history and that of earlier eras and were both exceptional.
Ms Anh took us on an all day city tour which was amazing, we learned so much and enjoyed every stop especially the Citadel which is directly across the river from the hotel. Our second tour was to the DMZ which of course dealt with more recent times. Tam,our guide, had lived through this period and was able to add many personal experiences to the tour. It was a superb tour and the lunch provided at a local restaurant was excellent. Both tours were very lengthy with the DMZ trip involving a lot of time in a very (comfortable ) car.
On our last day we availed of the finally dry weather to walk into town along the river. It was a very nice walk indeed with plenty to see and we thoroughly enjoyed it. If the sun had shone it would have been spectacular. The hotel is perfectly situated for anyone coming to Hue. On our return we had a light lunch at the bar which is very nice and with friendly staff. Then we had our spa treatment to finish off our stay, excellent. For a stay in Hue , La Residence is superb.
Ps The weather apparently can get extremely hot in summer .
