Can Tho Weather Overview

A perfect escape from bustling cities like Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Can Tho is a year-round destination. Direct international and domestic flights serve Can Tho Airport (VCA) from major cities in Vietnam and Asia. The cool, dry season runs from November until March, characterised by clear skies, sunny days, and cool breezes.

The green season starts in May and lasts until August, offering hot, sunny days with strong downpours lasting a few hours. The shoulder seasons, when the weather starts to change from dry to wet and vice-versa, occurs between April and May and September and October respectively.

Best Time to Visit Can Tho

The best time to book a stay at Azerai Can Tho is between September and April when the temperature is slightly cooler (29 C during the day, 22 C at night). The dense network of the Mekong Delta and its tributaries has developed the waterway transport system and formed the special customs of the locals here.

The largest wholesale floating market in Southeast Asia, Cai Rang, is located right here, in Can Tho, with easy access from the Azerai Resort. Other activities to enjoy during the dry season include cycling along country roads and sampling delicious fruit during the harvest season.

Note on the Rainy Season

If you can’t get away to Can Tho before the rainy season starts, don’t worry. The rains in this region are usually short and won’t affect your vacation or weekend seriously. Just bear in mind that the weather is typically hotter during this time and can reach 35 C with humidity levels hovering between 80-85%. Thus when those afternoon thunderstorms come by, just head to the Café or Grill for a Mekong Flavours cooking class, or book a treatment at the Spa. There is also a yoga pavilion in addition to a Pilates studio to take advantage of.
