Azerai opens in Vietnam's Mekong Delta

Situated on a private islet on the Hau River, a main tributary of the Mekong River, Azerai provides elegant, relaxed accommodations and a full-service resort experience, while introducing travellers to the region’s charming, centuries-old river culture.

The fourth largest city in Vietnam, Can Tho is the leading city of the Mekong Delta. An urban hub for the farming and fishing communities of the Delta region, the city remains steeped in a heartwarming traditional river culture wherein the Mekong River continues to play an important role in daily life. Locally, the Delta is known as ‘Cuu Long’, or ‘Nine Dragons’, referring to the nine tributaries of the Mekong which fan through the region, enriching the soil before emptying into the Vietnam Sea.
Azerai is located on Au Islet, a 21-hectare sanctuary in the middle of the Hau River. The islet is home to native mangroves and banyan trees, both integral parts of the Mekong Delta ecosystem. Can Tho Bridge, Southeast Asia’s longest stayed-bridge, spans the waterway to northeast, creating a dramatic backdrop. Ninh Kieu Quay and the Hau River’s languid waters embrace the remaining shoreline. Though only one kilometre from the city centre, the islet’s natural beauty and tranquillity provide a dramatic contrast to the hustle and bustle of Can Tho city.

Azerai is a new story and brand of hotels offering guests simple elegance, refined design, discreet and attentive service in places of unique beauty and cultural interest. Azerai is uniquely envisioned for today’s experienced discerning travellers: individuals, couples and families looking for distinction, quality and comfort at affordable prices. The name Azerai is a nod to the Persian word caravanserai, or a resting place with a central courtyard for travellers. The opening of Azerai in Can Tho marks the first of several planned projects in Vietnam.
